Beginners Course
Our Beginners Course is designed for those new to Kathak or with little to no prior experience.This foundational program introduces students to the basic techniques, footwork (tala), and hand gestures (mudras) that form the core of Kathak. Through engaging lessons, students will learn simple choreography and develop an understanding of rhythm, expressiveness, and storytelling. Emphasis is placed on building confidence and creativity, allowing students to experience the joy of dance. The course culminates in a showcase where participants can perform what they have learned, celebrating their progress in a supportive environment.
Intermediate Course
The Intermediate Course is tailored for students who have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of Kathak and are ready to deepen their skills. In this program, students will enhance their technique, explore intricate footwork patterns, and learn more complex choreography. The course focuses on the nuances of expression (abhinaya), allowing students to convey emotions through dance. Participants will also be introduced to various styles within Kathak, including traditional and contemporary interpretations. By the end of the course, students will refine their performance skills and gain the confidence to express deeper narratives through their dance.
Advanced Course
Our Advanced Course is designed for accomplished dancers seeking to elevate their Kathak practice to the next level. This program offers intensive training in advanced techniques, complex rhythms, and intricate choreography. Students will explore the deeper philosophical and historical aspects of Kathak, delving into various compositions and improvisational styles. The course fosters creativity, encouraging dancers to develop their unique interpretations while also preparing for performances and competitions.
